Jon Whack Update 1


Jon Whack is receiving its first update! with a focus on the accessibility of the game, fluidness, and some new content.

Many changes have been made to levels to improve navigation, movement has been tweaked to make it feel more intuitive, and many other quality of life changes. A new level has also been added been added, along with more support for speed running.

Additions :

  • Added a new level
  • Added a timer that persists between levels
  • Right mouse button now slows time to help with lining up throws and combat confusing movement
  • Music slows based on time flow
  • Ball now has accelerated gravity, making it feel heavier and more controllable
  • Added some indicators around levels to help with navigation
  • Alarm lights have an extra point light to help reduce the flashing effect, still retains the same feel with less eye strain
  • Added a slight outline shader to improve visibility
  • Final jump of first level extended to encourage use of magnet
  • Added more short walls to encourage more movement
  • Added more tutorial texts
  • More secrets
  • Added more voice lines
  • Added new guard spotting lines
  • Wall charging glitch removed
  • Game is no longer in dev mode


Improvements :

  • Ball now passes through floors on recall, done to fix a problem when jumping between buildings
  • Ball pickup location lowered to help with visibility
  • Ball has been made lighter to avoid hyper-fast magnet swinging
  • Ball SFX limited
  • FOV raised to help with spatialization
  • Music volume lowered
  • Death text background made smaller and transparent to help with photosensitivity
  • Guard bodies no longer collide with player
  • Minigunner spotlights aim at player
  • Magnets made vastly more powerful
  • Extended opening delay before story text
  • Fixed some platforms where you could fall through on accident
  • Added various lights to help with level progression
  • Alarm light brightness reduced
  • Alarm lights spin slightly slower
  • Camera motion blur removed
  • Tweaked player physics
  • Tweaked running screen shake to combat motion sickness
  • Tweaked various spawn points
  • Tweaked various areas to help with movement
  • Tweaked enemy placement
  • Tweaked various level geometry to avoid accidental repeated deaths
  • Tweaked tutorial texts
  • Tweaked shader


Fixes :

  • Fixed clipping on various level geometry
  • Fixed a bug regarding the inability to reel in the ball after attempting to pickup an immovable object
